(4)意群：
新托福听力时不可以一个单词一个单词地去了解，应当留意意群，由于意群中间间距之处更是间断之处，留意以下句子诵读时间断的区别：
John said, "My father is here."
"John," said my father, "is here."
She likes pineapples。
She likes pie and apples。
He sold his houseboat and trailer。
He sold his house, boat, and trailer。
(5)留意多音字：
一些单词发音同样，也很有可能给英语听力了解产生艰难，如：
What is black and white, and read (red) all over?
这儿在听的情况下，难以分请是read還是red。
(6)语调：
语调是讲话者表述感情的一种方式，一样一个语句假如语调不一样，则含意就有可能产生变化，如：Open the door, will you?�J
Open the door, won''t you?�K
用音调表明一种要求，用降调表示命令。
What? �JWhat?�K�J升调表明疑惑，降升表明惊讶和不敢相信。
